Our Methodology
The Level 9 Feedback Loop
True progress happens when a student understands precisely where they lost marks and how to redraft to the standard of a top-grade response. Our methodology is built on a targeted four-step cycle:

Authentic GCSE Task
Your child completes a response to a GCSE English task independently at home (their 3–4-page response is called a script).

Diagnostic Assessment
I mark the response (script) line-by-line using official AQA GCSE criteria, identifying structural weaknesses, language choices, and technical accuracy.

Live Verbal Feedback
We discuss the marking together (via videocall or face-to-face), breaking down exact examiner expectations and targeted improvements.

The Redraft & Final Review
Post verbal feedback, your child redrafts the piece, implementing the advice. I re-assess the final submission to verify progress and embedded skills.
That is approximately 90 minutes of dedicated, analytical attention from the teacher for every single piece of GCSE writing your child produces. This systematic cycle of drafting, detailed feedback, and redrafting is the most reliable path to securing top marks at GCSE.
